Her songs are surprisingly tricky because she likes to do the stutter-word thing (lots of words on the same note in a short amount of time) which is difficult to replicate in perfect time on piano. Next up is "Fast Car" on Monday and then I had "Clean" scheduled from "1989" which is my all-time favorite Swift song. Once I have enough of a subscriber base built up I'm going to start doing polls though.

It's called SeeMusic... it takes your MIDI file and turns it into falling colors that are customizable. Then if you want you can sync both your video and audio to it. I used this along with Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro. Good luck! Thanks for watching. www.visualmusicdesign.com/

Thanks Lisa. I’m working on it. I’d like to get two camera angles going when we’re live but it’s pretty tricky, I’m researching it. What I could do though is have JUST this camera angle. You wouldn’t be able to see my face but you could hear me. We should try that. I worked on this video from 9PM-4:30AM lol. Going to try to get semi-consistent with posting songs.

Hey man thanks for the comment! Years ago I would ask myself that same question... not just about this one but about most of my stuff. I've got 12 songwriting awards, blah blah blah... the answer simply is that the stuff you see that goes "viral" are videos that have essentially hit the lottery. If you picked a hundred random videos regardless of views, MAYBE 1/100 would be amazing, but even at those odds, that's 8,000,000 videos... (there are 800,000,000) videos on RUclips. Out of those 8 million, a tiny percentage go "viral"... same with FB, TikTok, Instagram, etc. In order for a video like this to get millions of views, you and hundreds of thousands of other people would have to see it and share it, which is highly unlikely. It's like a snowball effect. I used to let it keep me up at night, feeling like the universe was pitted against me... until I started to understand that the business is 25% skill and 75% luck. Think about this... 60,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify every day... there are hundreds of millions of songs on Spotify. I have incredible stuff on iTunes and Spotify but most have less than a thousand streams. For the exact same reason as RUclips. I HATE marketing and promoting, so that's hurting me too. Even if you heavily promote your own stuff, it's still unlikely to ever go viral, no matter how good. You just have to work and work and build up a fan base one person at a time. An interesting example is "Old Town Road"... a lot of people don't know that that song languished on TikTok with 10,000 views for a year. Lil' Nas and his producer promoted it CONSTANTLY... daily... creating memes, sound clips, you name it, until finally after a year or two it started to pick up steam. That's what it takes. Every once in awhile you get an overnight sensation, but it's very, very rare. Sorry for the rant, it's just a fascinating subject and I rarely get a chance to explain it. I appreciate you watching and appreciating it!

Hi Mary, so this is actually a selling technique of mine for couples thinking about hiring me to play their weddings but hesitant about the price. We get on a Zoom call and I ask them for a song or two... then I either learn them and play them on the spot, or I record a video and post it. This was the latter. They wanted this song at their wedding so I posted a quick video to show them. They DIDN'T end up hiring me, but I still thought it was a nice little sample so I left it up. - K

Hi Mary, I appreciate you listening so intently to the lyrics and understanding the concept of the song, it really means a lot. I really LOVE abstract imagery as you can almost always find a way to interpret it correctly. The eye at the end was just a random idea I had as a "logo" to go along with the "ding" sound... in retrospect I don't love it. But the hanging key was a photo I chose and is a criticism of myself for unintentionally leaving the key to my heart available, because once she had it, she threw it away. I know this post was a long time ago, but I have seen Svitlana's posts since then so I'm quite sure she is ok. I know she is doing well also because I can no longer afford her lol.

Good advice! This was one that Trevor and I recorded quickly and with almost no thought involved. It was a song we both knew and wanted to use as a demo to get shows. I just thought I would upload it since it sounded pretty good. I'd be curious what you thought of my first band (technically still my band) Intervision (ruclips.net/video/d3n7_iVdl2Y/видео.html). We released three albums in the 2000's and almost got signed by two different major labels. The reason I mention them is we were oft-compared to Maroon 5 and we did a great cover of this song.
